Cultural and Heritage Studies QQI MAJOR 5 AWARD (in collaboration with the City of Dublin Education Training Board)

Culture and Heritage TrainingDublin

Next course starting date is the 16th of October. Taking applications now!

What’s involved in the course? – The Dublinia Cultural and Heritage programme, delivered in collaboration with the City of Dublin Education Training Board (CDETB,) is a QQI Level 5 Major Award. The training programme combines training and work experience which takes place in the lovely surrounds of Dublinia in our specially designed classrooms.

What do you study? – Subjects like Local History, Heritage, Folklore and Ethnology, Archaeology, and more. But it’s not all in the classroom, to compliment this you will get to go on lots of familiarisation trips to other heritage sites around Ireland, places you may never have heard of before, well off the beaten track!

What kind of work experience is involved? – Work experience takes place in Dublinia, one of the busiest and most exciting attractions in Dublin and you will also get to choose a heritage site or attraction to complete your work experience module to make sure you get what you want out of it. These placements help to broaden your knowledge of other Heritage sites along with creating personal links to enhance your career.

What will I get at the end? – Our successful graduates have gained employment in culture and heritage sites throughout Dublin including Malahide Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral, The National Museum of Ireland, Kilmainham Gaol, as well as in busy tour operator offices. Some have also progressed to further studies.
